BED BUG PREPARATION
As experts in Bed bug treatments with a success rate of 100%, we recommend our costumers to follow all the instructions in order to get the best results in the extermination process.
WHY DO I HAVE TO PREPARE?
Bed bugs are resilient creatures that will feed on your blood to get the nutrients they need to grow and reproduce, It doesn’t mean they have to stay on you 24/7.
Bed bugs can be found in mattresses when the population is big enough. However, this is not because you sleep in there; it’s due to the oils and CO2 your body releases. Following this logic, bed bugs are attracted to your mattress, clothing, shoes, sofa, towels and suitcases.
Those blood suckers lost their wings in order to fit into cracks and crevices, that’s why they are commonly hiding inside moldings, books, purses, etc.
By preparing your belongins before the treatment, you will help to improve your chances of exterminating them completely.
PREPARATION STEPS:
1) Empty closets and dressers. Wash/machine dry all fabric’s including clothing, bedding, fabric curtains, etc. you can simply machine dry items that won’t get damaged for 30-40 minutes on high heat. Place in clean plastic bags and seal.
2) During the preparation process have a spray bottle with an organic product or rubbing alcohol handy, should you see any bedbugs.
3) Move furniture away from walls 2 feet. Stand the mattress and box spring up against the wall. The box spring dust cover will be removed and disposed of.
4) Remove electrical outlet covers in the bedrooms and living room. Remove items off wall and wipe with disinfectant (or similar product).
5) Empty bedroom closets, dressers, nightstands and wipe hard objects with a disinfectant and place contents in plastic bag. Any suitcases, back-packs or similar items should be emptied and left out for treatment.
6) If you do not have a mattress encasement on mattresses/box spring, purchase them but do not install until after all treatments are done. We do NOT recommend vinyl encasements as they rip.
7) Critical that you declutter if apartment is crowded. There should not be anything stored under the beds. Beds that have built in draws need to remove draws for treatment.
8) Prior to exterminator’s arrival, place the sealed plastic bags inside bathtub/shower stall.
9) Thoroughly vacuum/cleanup apartment prior to treatment. Dispose of vacuum bag in sealed plastic bag to avoid infesting other areas.
