Trusted extermination services to keep your home, business, and customers pest-free
German cockroaches spread between NYC apartments through shared wall voids, plumbing chases, electrical conduit, and trash rooms — so even a spotless unit can be reinfested from a neighbor. Lasting control treats the connected pathway, not one apartment. NYE combines inspection, non-repellent microinjection, IGRs, targeted baiting, sealing, and monitoring to reduce the population at its source.
In multi-unit NYC buildings, German cockroaches rarely stay in one apartment. They travel along the hidden infrastructure that connects units: shared wall voids, plumbing risers and pipe chases, electrical conduit, cabinet backs that abut a neighbor, compactor and trash rooms, and gaps around radiators and steam pipes. A single gravid female carries an egg case (ootheca) holding 30–40 eggs, so a few hitchhikers from a neighboring unit can re-establish an infestation quickly.
Sanitation matters, but it does not seal the pathways between units. If a connected apartment, a trash chute, or a restaurant on the ground floor is feeding a population, your clean kitchen can still receive foragers through the wall it shares. This is why DIY sprays and even diligent cleaning often fail in apartment buildings — they treat the symptom in one unit while the source keeps pushing roaches back in.
Lasting results come from treating the pathway, not just the unit. NYE inspects the harborage and the shared entry points, microinjects non-repellent materials and insect growth regulators (IGRs) into voids and runs, places targeted gel bait, seals the conduit and pipe gaps that connect units, and monitors so we can confirm the population is dropping. In buildings, we coordinate adjacent units and common areas wherever access allows.
Most resolved in a single visit
Because the non-repellents don’t spook the roaches, they keep moving through treated zones and carry it back to the colony — our callback rate is under 1%.
Expert note — Jorge Bedoya, ACE
In connected NYC buildings I look past the unit that called us. If a line of apartments shares a riser, the colony often lives in the void between them. Treating only the complaining unit just moves the problem next door. We map the shared pathway and treat it as one system — that is the difference between a quiet kitchen for a month and one that stays quiet.

Yes. German cockroaches travel through shared wall voids, plumbing and electrical penetrations, and trash areas. If a connected unit is infested, your apartment can be reinfested no matter how clean it is — which is why control should address the shared pathway.
Most single-unit jobs are resolved in one visit, but in buildings where adjacent units are infested, durable results depend on treating those units and common areas too. We coordinate access wherever possible and monitor to confirm the decline.
Family-owned, NYSDEC-licensed, and ACE-led — our German cockroach work carries a callback rate under 1%, with the vast majority of jobs resolved in a single visit.
