New York Exterminating is an ACE-led, Midwood-based pest control company (1115 E 13th St, Brooklyn, NY 11230), and German cockroach elimination in Gerritsen Beach is what we do best. Gerritsen Beach’s small detached, bungalow-style homes still get German cockroaches that arrive in packaging and deliveries and move in from adjacent units, so the fix is finding the harborage rather than spraying baseboards.
Our German cockroach service is designed to eliminate the infestation in a single visit, not to put you on a monthly spray contract — follow-up visits are for verification only, never re-application. Whenever possible, the same technician handles your home, we don’t blame your housekeeping, and we’re led by Jorge Bedoya, an Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) and NYSDEC-licensed applicator (#15140). We work in English and Spanish, and we serve all five boroughs plus Nassau and Westchester.
Gerritsen Beach’s small detached, bungalow-style homes usually pick up German cockroaches from deliveries, packaging or a used appliance, and the colony settles inside motors, cabinet joints and wall voids where counter sprays never reach. Our ACE-led Trio Protocol hits the colony three ways in a single visit:

New York Exterminating provides licensed pest control across Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn (11229) — for the neighborhood’s close-set bungalows, crawlspaces, and the homes that back onto Gerritsen Creek and the salt marsh. The water and damp ground bring rodents, mosquitoes, and waterbugs that drier blocks don’t see. As an ACE-certified, NYSDEC-registered (#15140) company based minutes away in Midwood, we offer same-day service, free estimates, and bilingual English/Spanish support. Call (347) 210-4646.
Gerritsen Beach is a tight-knit community of small, close-set bungalows wrapped around Gerritsen Creek and the salt marsh. Water on three sides, crawlspaces, and flood-prone, damp ground create a uniquely tough pest environment — heavy rodent, mosquito, and waterbug pressure, plus wood-destroying insects in the older frame homes.
The marsh, the creek, and crawlspaces under Gerritsen Beach bungalows give rats and mice constant harborage. We trap, exclude, and seal entry points along foundations and crawlspaces.
Standing water in the marsh and yards makes mosquitoes a serious warm-season problem here. We target breeding sites and treat resting areas so you can use your yard and dock.
Damp crawlspaces and basements favor large American roaches (“waterbugs”). We treat the source, address moisture, and seal entry points — every cockroach job is designed to resolve in a single visit.
Older frame bungalows near damp ground are vulnerable to termites and carpenter ants, and the marsh draws wildlife. We inspect, treat, and exclude.
We’re a Midwood-based, ACE-certified, NYSDEC-registered (#15140) company serving Brooklyn since 2010 — with an Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) on staff, bilingual (English/Spanish) service, same-day appointments, free estimates, and verification-only follow-ups.
Between October 2025 and October 2026, NYC 311 logged 137 rodent complaints in ZIP 11229: 84 rat sightings and 45 reports of conditions attracting rodents. In Gerritsen Beach’s small detached, bungalow-style homes, mice usually get in at ground level: gaps around gas and water lines, worn door sweeps on basements and garages, and the joint where the house frame sits on the foundation.
Bait alone feeds a population that keeps coming back from next door. Our rodent exclusion seals every entry point we find with copper mesh, hardware cloth and sealant, then removes the mice already inside with trapping and tamper-resistant stations. Mouse jobs typically run $280–$600, quoted after a free inspection.

In Gerritsen Beach’s small detached, bungalow-style homes, clothes moths settle where wool sits undisturbed: attic and basement storage, cedar chests, guest-room closets and the underside of area rugs. The damage comes from the larvae of the webbing clothes moth (Tineola bisselliella) and the casemaking clothes moth (Tinea pellionella), which feed on wool, cashmere, silk and fur.
We find the source, treat closets, storage and rug edges, set pheromone monitors, and advise on cleaning and storage so the rest of your textiles stay protected. See our clothes moth treatment.
In Gerritsen Beach’s small detached, bungalow-style homes, bed bugs usually arrive in luggage, used furniture or a guest’s bag, and they tend to stay in one or two bedrooms when they’re caught early.
Our bed bug treatment is two visits about two weeks apart, priced at $450–$900 plus tax. Around 1% of jobs need a third visit, and follow-ups are for verification. If bites continue with no sign of bed bugs, we check for bird and rat mites, which are often mistaken for them.
Water on three sides, crawlspaces, and damp ground give rodents, waterbugs, and mosquitoes ideal conditions. Lasting control means sealing crawlspace entry points and reducing moisture and breeding sites — which we build into every job.
